Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers but it can be detected early (and late) by a colonoscopy. A possible symptom of colorectal cancer is a change in bowel habit. This is what I had – a severe bout of constipation. I went to the doctors and was given a FIT test pack. Submitted and analysed I was put on a cancer pathway, and an urgent appointment for a colonoscopy was made for me. I was given a laxative preparation for the colonoscopy procedure, Moviprep. Unfortunately this laxative was too brutal for me and I was very ill. I had to cancel the appointment. Soon another appointment was made for a colonoscopy on the 3rd February, 2026 and a different laxative was proscribed. Prior to the colonoscopy the following horary questions were asked by me.

New laxative

Moon, dignified in own sign is void of course, but approaching Jupiter. Mercury, ruler 12th is leaving Venus, Asc ruler. Answer, no.

Colonoscopy find

Moon conj retro Jupiter, both planets dignified, suggests all will be ok, and result will be quick. This is what happened. The result of colonoscopy was given to me immediately after the procedure. A big relief.

Hoary conjunction – meaning

Full moon, satisfactory conclusion of matter, Sun in received in Leo.

The colonoscopy found nothing of any concern.

One caveat. Transiting Uranus sextile radical Venus did not seemingly coincide with any inflexion of the Bitcoin price.

After some months of a dismal downtrend Elastos suddenly took off and the price increased quite significantly on the 9th March 2019. However, on reflection, compared to some of the downturns this upwards inflexion is indeed modest.

Astrologically, it is not difficult to see why this upturn occurred. Here are the pertinent transits to the radix (9th March 2019):

ELA upturn

Uranus is square the powerful radical conjunction of the Sun and Saturn, with Saturn cazimi in the radix. This conjunction is probably the most significant aspect in the chart. Therefore, I would expect any transiting planet (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) aspecting this conjunction to have a significant impact.

According to Rhetorius and Sahl a planet is considered to be “in the heart” as soon as it comes within one degree of a conjunction with the Sun.

According to al-Qabisi and Bonatti a planet is considered to be “in the heart” as soon as it comes within 16 minutes of a conjunction with the Sun.

Interesting – I’d better keep an eye on Elastos!

Uranus having finished its trine to Saturn has gone onto aspecting the radical Sun. This seems to be having an ‘effect’ on the price too as it has moved upward again. The chart, it seems, is revealing itself!

One of the most remarkable coincidences or significant correlations, depending on you point-of-view, occurred when Saturn made its ingress into Capricorn. Was it a coincidence that Saturn’s ingress into Capricorn happened at the same time as the top of Bitcoin occurred, December 17th 2017?

Bitcoin Notes

The astrology goes something like this. The major significations in the Bitcoin radix are Saturn and Uranus mainly because they oppose one another. This happens to be the only opposition in the chart, discounting possible Asc and MC aspects. Saturn is associated with the fiat status quo monetary system whilst Uranus is associated with the upstart Bitcoin. Thus when Saturn entered Capricorn from Sagittarius at the height of Bitcoin’s price Saturn suddenly became dominant. Saturn rules Capricorn and thus the status quo becomes top dog. Note that prior to the entry into Capricorn Saturn had very little dignity.

Where was Uranus when this happens? In Aries. Further analysis could be made but I’ll keep it simple and just focus on the Saturn ingress.

The AC Bitcoin chart for the astro CIT on the 1st of Sept 2018 shows that the aspect ‘missed’ the downturn on the 5th of September 2018.

However, the Trading View BTCUSD chart for the same period (using Bitfinex data) shows that the aspect did correspond to the downturn, as the highest point occurred on the 2nd of Sept 2018 which is close enough to the aspect date to be significant. Trading View appears to use Bitfinex as a default exchange.

A brief analysis of the chart

The chart is perhaps most notable for Saturn being in cazimi with the Sun, a powerful position indeed. Saturn is also in its own sign too.

The Moon is opposite the previous lunar eclipse, and midpoint (orb separation 03′) square Mars Jupiter. Mars is fortunate in its own domain of Scorpio.

Financial Data

Because there is very little financial data to play with, the aspect with the smallest separation Jupiter to Saturn yields no transiting to radical planets. Data is available from February 8th 2018.

Elastos – the three most significant aspects

However the next two aspects Moon aspecting Neptune, and Saturn cazimi to the Sun yield some aspects that appear to correlate satisfactorily with Elastos inflexions or CIT’s (Change In Trend). See below.

Astrological radix chart for Bitcoin

Most, if not everyone agrees that the astrological radix chart for bitcoin is Jan 3rd 2009. The start of the Genesis block. The location is open to question. I use Dublin, Eire. Maybe it can be surmised that the first BTC transaction was universal (the Bitcoin network is decentralised) and so there’s no real place of birth. This may be a dubious supposition but it gives an easier chart to work with. The ASC and MC can be ignored, at least initially. This how I approach the radix.

Why only transits to the radix?

What about secondary progressions to the radix? The simple answer is that they don’t seem to work, ie there’s no correlation with the ups and downs of the bitcoin price as far as I can discern. Besides the chart is very young therefore there are very few aspects. Ingresses (Saturn and Uranus only) seem to resonate well. I only use Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto transits. In this analysis I use transits to the radix chart, almost exclusively. However, it appears that significant movements in the Bitcoin price also respond to Saturn and Uranus transit to transit aspects. Inflexion points

What the Bitcoin astro chart should do is to reflect the tops and bottoms of its associated financial chart. Does it?

Here’s my analysis over the period from 17th December 2018 to March 31st 2018.

The Bitcoin radix chart

Examining the chart it’s easy to draw the conclusion that the main focus of activity is the opposition of Saturn and Uranus. Some astrologers have likened Saturn to the fiat currency, and the new upstart currency Bitcoin to Uranus which seems reasonable to me. Some other pertinent points are:

• Venus is exalted
• Jupiter is in its fall
• Mars is exalted
• The degrees 0, and 30th degree are emphasised because of the zodiacal positions of Venus, Jupiter, Pluto and the North Node..

Fall in the price of Bitcoin

A very important point was the dramatic recent fall in the price of Bitcoin on the 17th of December 2017. What happened astrologically that could signify the end of incredible Bitcoin bull run:

Saturn’s Ingress into Capricorn

Why would this signify the end of the bull run? Saturn’s at home in Capricorn, so the balance has shifted in Saturn’s favour. Note there was also a Saturn 30 degree aspect to radical Jupiter.

The Forecasts

January 16th 2018

A transit of Pluto sextile’s Uranus. Note Pluto is in Capricorn. Just prior to that Jupiter made a trine to radical Uranus. Looks nice, but remember that Jupiter is its fall in Capricorn the home of Saturn. A fall in the price was forecast. What happened: there was a big fall in the Bitcoin price. √

Jan 28th 2018 things were looking a bit more positive for Bitcoin but…

Saturn squared the Moon radically. This is a not a happy aspect, the receptions are unpleasant. Bitcoin falls again, as forecast.  √

What’s the next positive aspects? – 6th February 2018

Saturn conjuncts radical Mars (Mars is exalted in Capricorn), 8th Feb 2018, and just a day or so before that Jupiter makes a sextile to radical Saturn on the 6th of Feb 2018. Both positive aspects. Jupiter is radically in Saturn’s current position and sign. The fall is mitigated it seems. Bitcoin rises significantly, as forecast.  √

Forecast that gets the inflexion point but not the price direction, 20th Feb 2018

On the 20th Feb 2018 Neptune made a sextile to the radical Sun. I thought this would result in a upward movement. It went went down. However getting the inflexion point is remarkable in itself, I think.  √ / X

March 3rd 2018 – a drop in price?

A transit of Saturn is going to aspect radical Neptune with a 45 degree aspect. I expect this to signify a downward fall in price.

Note that at the beginning of February 2014 a square transit of Saturn to radical Neptune happened at he same time as the Mt Gox crash. The price fell from $867 to $439 (a 49% drop). Let’s hope the fall isn’t as drastic.

Result – yes there was a fall in price.  √

The big question is “Did this aspect signify a drop in prices so that the Saturn aspect dominated until the next major aspect”?

March 21st 2018 – another inflexion point

A transit of Neptune is going to aspect radical Jupiter with a 45 degree aspect. Neptune occupies the domicile of Jupiter. I expect this to signify an upturn in price. A down turn occurred.  √ / X

March 30th 2018 – another inflexion point

On the 30th March there is a transiting Jupiter square radical Neptune that should arrest the downturn but not sufficiently (this written on the 31st March 2018) to alter its general downward course, I surmise. Not shown on the graph below.  √

Here’s an aspect I missed. Transiting Neptune 15° to radical Venus.

Here’s another example of transiting Neptune (April 10th 2013) aspecting the radical Moon this time with a semi-sextile within 02′ of arc. Note that Jupiter is 150° to the radical Sun and Pluto is almost 18° (01′ of separation) to radical Jupiter.

Note that not all of the aspects shown above have been discussed in this post.

Tentative conclusion. Is it significant that the three most striking and powerful inflexion points are Saturn’s aspects by conjunction and square? I think so. Both aspects are astrologically considered to be among the strongest, along with the opposition. And perhaps the next two most powerful inflexion points are Saturn aspects too, Dec 17th 2017, and March 3rd 2018, increasing the likelihood of Saturn’s aspects being the ones to watch. Which is not surprising.

What about aspects from or to Uranus, the other contender in the radical opposition? Only one of note, Jan 16th 2018, with a powerful downturn. Pluto sextile radical Uranus, with (almost) an aspectual zero orb.

Since writing the above two paragraphs Neptune has taken a somewhat leading role. Interesting!

Uranus’ first ingresses into Taurus, May 15th 2018 – major alert

A major event in the life of Bitcoin is signified when Uranus ingresses into Taurus, May 15th 2018, from its natal place in Aries. I think this will signify a new vitality in BTC. The ruler of Taurus, Venus is exalted in the BTC chart. Whatever happens it will be significant I believe.

Will it be as significant as the Saturn ingress into Capricorn on the 18th Dec 2017, signifying the end of the BTC bull run? Could be. Hold on to your hats!

Prior to the ingress into Taurus Uranus aspects radical Jupiter with a square on May 5th 2018. Will this be a foretaste of the ingress?

Are there any aspects prior to Uranus square Jupiter that might change the downward direction of Bitcoin, as of March 30th 2018? There are a few Jupiter aspects, but nothing else of note, AFAIK. Except for the powerful Neptune aspect I missed: Neptune 15° to radical Venus – see A sudden surge upward – 12th April 2018.

Can all inflexion points be forecast? Can all price directions be forecast?

No, in my opinion, that’s just not possible. Being able to get some/many is enough surely.

These forecast (apart from the Saturn ingress) were all made prior to the event, except when noted. Nothing here is retrospective except in the writing of the aspects and events. The correlation between the inflexion points and the transiting aspects to the radix is not affected either way, ie the dates of inflexion and their associated aspects cannot be manipulated after or before the event. We are dealing with facts not suppositions.

The question proposed by the title of this post is:

Bitcoin – can significant changes in the direction of the price be forecast?

Radix: the Bitcoin natal chart; a natal chart; an event. Short-hand: r

Radical: a natal chart planetary zodiacal position; referring to the radix

Transit: the actual position of a planet in the sky on the day concerned. Short-hand: t

Aspect: the angular distance between two planets/points. In this post, aspect are mostly between a transiting planet and a radical planet.

Major aspects: 0, 90, 120, 180 – the 0, 90, and 180 degree aspects are considered to the most powerful.

Other: 15, 30, 45, 60, 135, 150 – the 45, and 135 degree aspects are often considered to be the most powerful of this group.

Does Zodiacal Releasing work? Here I present my findings from examining my own chart with respect to ZR. All screenshots are from the iPad app AstroConnexions.

Here’s what Chris Brennan, a Hellenistic astrology expert has to say about Zodiacal releasing. I can’t think of anyone better to explain the basics. This extract is taken from his website (with his permission):

As a result of recent translations of ancient Greek texts that have been carried out over the past 20 years, a set of ancient timing techniques have been recovered known as “time-lord” systems. One of the most impressive and powerful time-lord systems that has been rediscovered so far is known today as zodiacal releasing.

Zodiacal releasing divides a person’s life into chapters and paragraphs, as if the life was a book, and you were able to read the narrative of the native’s life like you were reading the outline of a biography. Each chapter in a native’s life begins with the activation of a specific planet as a time-lord, as well as the sign of the zodiac ruled by that planet.

Once all of the time-lord periods for a person’s life have been calculated, the technique can be used to identify periods of heightened importance and activity with respect to the native’s overall career and life direction, otherwise known as “peak periods.” The technique also provides information about which periods of the native’s life will tend to be experienced as the most subjectively positive or negative, career transitions, and other important life turning points.

“It is a cardinal rule that no direction can bring to pass what is not shown in the nativity. Exceptions to this are virtually non-existent.”

There are two secondary progression aspects that occur in my chart that can be seen to be extremely significant:

• Sun square Jupiter, 1974/1975 – amazing spiritual revelations and change of life direction. Sun is trine to Jupiter, in the radix.
• Sun conj Mars, 2004 – disaster. Sun is in its fall, Mars in its detriment. Both in a cadent house.

Both aspects were profound learning experiences, and the events were the most significant in my life that affected me for many years afterwards.

With Leo rising, Sun in Leo it doesn’t take much thought to understand that sun progressed aspects to natal points/planets are going to be significant.
