This is mainly for bi-wheels, eg transits, progressions. This can also be used by horary charts – see:

(It can also be used to change the time of a Natal/Radix chart (tapping the right button when a Natal chart is displayed changes the chart to a Transit chart with the same date/time/place as the Natal chart). This is also useful as a rectification method.

Using this feature

Say for instance, when the Secondary Progressions menu is selected we see that the MC has progressed beyond the conjunction to radical Venus. We may want to examine all aspects when this aspect occurred.

Here is a comparison between a Lunar Return precession-corrected chart. One calculated with Solar Fire ver 9.0.25, and the other calculated with AstroConnexions. The charts are essentially identical.

Please note that these charts are not sidereal. Always use the Tropical zodiac for precession-corrected charts.

1. A return without precession-adjustment or relocation, ie a SR or LR that uses the natal chart details.
2. A return that is without precession-adjustment but is relocated to a different geographical location
3. A return that has precession-adjustment without being relocated.
4. A return that has precession-adjustment and is relocated.

The following settings for the Returns popover will calculate the above – using the same listing order.

1. Select Natal and Standard
2. Select Relocation and Standard
3. Select Natal and Precession-Corrected
4. Select Relocation and Precession-Corrected

Note by default the Fagan/Bradley ayanamsha is used. By tapping the Ayanamsha button a different ayanamsha can be selected.

Selecting a Solar Return or Lunar Return – displays the Return chart automatically – method for iPhone below

1. Select a natal/radix chart or use the one already displayed.

2. Tap Solar Return (see screenshot below)

3. The current Solar Return is shown (unless a historical chart – an SR is shown for the natal date. It seems inappropriate the use the current date or someone who is dead. The chart can still be manipulated , see 4.)

4. Scroll the Quick Year control (see screenshot below) to go to another year’s SR.

5. Same procedure for a Lunar Return

Note that there is no other way to set the date for a SR/LR chart

The Step Interval can also be used for Returns. Applies to the iPhone.

When a Solar Return is displayed the only Step Interval that can be used is a Year. The step value can be any amount. Use,month for Lunar returns.

Go forward/backward in time buttons

Selecting the Bi-Wheel button places the Solar or Lunar Return chart around the current Natal Chart

When two Lunar Returns occur in the same month, AstroConnexions show the first and presents another button of a blue crescent Moon. Tap the blue crescent Moon to show the next Lunar Return occurrence in that month.

Alternative Method for iPad/Mac

Two LR’s in a month

This an alternative method for saving either of the two Lunar returns in a month – if applicable. Or any LR. For a selected Year/Month in the main chart view.

Tap the displayed LR record to invoke a Save LR chart view.

Prior requirements: ensure a Natal chart is being viewed. Select month and Year for the LR.

Not for relocated LR or precessed LR charts or Synastry charts.

Bug fix: If Lunar Return has two returns in a month and first one is being viewed. Prevent 2nd LR in month being triggered if full landscape view #1 or #2 is selected. From AC ver 2.93

Note that the second LR (in the same month) should be selected from the main view and not from the full landscape view, view #1 or #2
