Notes and Caveats

Promissor: applying planet/point

iPhone: Prom.

Significator: stationary planet/point

iPhone: Signif.

Terms: if Terms is selected (ie ticked) as a promissor – see above, no other promissor is allowed. Also Asc and IC should be the only Significators selected. Conjunction is the aspect that should be selected. See below for video. Egyptian Terms used in all examples.

Printing

if the results are sorted Print Preview (icon bottom right) shows the sorted results.

The last Primary Directions operation (provided the Calculation button is tapped) is automatically saved to the AC database so that on returning to use Primary Directions again the last operation is reloaded.

Calculating the Primary Directions – the Calculate/Calculated button

Note that the tick in the Calculate button only appears after the primary directions have been calculated and displayed ie the button has been tapped. The Calculate button text changes to Calculated and a tick appears. Tapping on the Key or Lat choices or Promissor or Significator or Aspects or D/C table records removes the Calculated button tick and changes the Calculated button text to Calculate.

Basically, changes to anything that might alter/affect the calculated results removes the Calculated tick and changes the text to Calculate. Tap the button again to re-calculate your choices. Please see video below.

PD Terms Setiings

The longitude only setting is the default. The setting can be changed. The next time the Fixed Stars table is viewed the All tab will be shown.

Does not affect Full Landscape settings.

Fixed Star Orb – Conjunctions

The table shows the fixed star conjunctions of the currently displayed chart

Fixed Star Orb – Declination

The table shows the fixed star declinations of the currently displayed chart

The Fixed Stars table shows those planets or points that are conjunct a fixed star – see the first screenshot, below. The fixed stars that are used in this table are the ones shown as prominent, ie ticked in the Fixed Star List (Default Settings menu). Please see screenshot 3, below.

Fixed Stars Aspects table

One of the fixed stars that some would consider that should be made prominent (for the purposes of this app) is Scheat. Note that by default, Scheat is not set as prominent. You might consider other fixed stars to be prominent – they should be added to the prominent list.

Here’s some example ‘before’ and ‘after’ screenshots:

No Fixed Star aspects in longitude – but some might be aware that Mars is close to the longitude of Scheat. How do we rectify this situation?

Changing a Fixed Star in the Fixed Star List to be ‘prominent’

Change a Fixed Star to Prominent. To remove the tick tap the record again.

Now returning to the Fixed Stars aspect table. Done!

To remove a fixed star from the list remove the tick by tapping the fixed star record.

If a progressed or directed chart is currently selected, the aspects shown are to the progressed positions.

Planetary fixed star aspects are shown by a * symbol in the chart.

Fixed star conjunctions to the Asc or MC are shown by a red star slightly offset from planetary fixed star aspects.

Note: tapping a fixed star table record shows the fixed star in the chart by making the star prominent. Other stars symbols are temporarily removed from the chart. Tapping again on the same fixed star table record restores all the star symbols in the chart
